Town Hall Meetings
Town Hall Meetings are community based meetings which are meant to be twofold in nature. They are to provide the opportunity for the community to have their voices heard, to state their opinions and to hear the opinion and thoughts of their State Senator.
These meetings:
1) Generally have specific topics that are relevant to the community e.g., education, economy, climate change, local issues, health care, schools, taxes, public transportation, roads, traffic etc.
2) Also allow the community to get to know the Senator not only during election time, but throughout the year and even when there is no election.
3) Are in place to allow the community to provide feedback on issues and concerns of the community and to understand what role their government plays for their benefit. Issues can span from crime to sidewalks, to lighting, to graffiti, to
4) Are set up once every other month in various locations within District 5 by Senator Curt Thompson. The location and times for these meetings is published on the Senator's website and his calendar of events
